Thoughtful packaging

All our e-commerce packaging is made from 100% recycled cardboard. They are also 100% recyclable and originate from sustainably managed forests (FSC).

From April 2021, we will go further in our approach to reduce waste. We will offer you a circular and reusable packaging solution, in partnership with the start-up Repack. After receipt of your order, you can drop off your packaging at La Poste. It will be returned to us and we will reuse it.

This packaging reduces greenhouse gas emissions by over 80% with respect to 100% recycled and 100% recyclable packaging. Find out more.

Our paper bags are made from 70% recycled fibres. They are 100% recyclable.

To protect ba&sh garments during transport, we use plastic bags, called polybags. In 2020, they were made partly of LDPE (60% recycled and 100% recyclable) and partly of ABS. The fact that they are made of two materials complicates their recycling.

From 2022, our plastic pouches will be in just LDPE material, 100% recycled and 100% recyclable. We are aware that this is only the first step, and we are working to minimise their use and reuse them in a closed circuit.

Calculating and reducing our carbon footprint

In the last few months, we have calculated our carbon footprint for the first time.

We are committed to reducing our greenhouse gas emissions and to follow a path that would limit global warming to +1.5°C compared to the pre-industrial era.

• We will reduce our 2019 greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2023.

• We will reduce the use of virgin plastic by 100% and we will use 100% recycled and recyclable plastic.

Saving energy

The bulbs in our shops have been changed and all lighting is now LED. They consume one-third of the energy of a conventional low energy bulb and one-ninth of an incandescent bulb.

Our warehouse in Louvres (95) is certified High Environmental Quality (HEQ). 96% of site waste has been recycled. The sanitary facilities are supplied by rainwater collection tanks. Natural lighting is optimized in the warehouse thanks to continuous windows on the facade. A photovoltaic power plant will soon be installed on the roof of the building. Many choices that save energy and employ an environmentally friendly approach are being put into effect.

Microplastics

Washing clothes by machine is the source of over 35% of plastic microparticles found in the oceans. These plastic microparticles take decades to biodegrade, disrupting flora and fauna throughout this period.

We take this subject very seriously. Since 2019, we have been selling a wash bag on our site: Guppyfriend. This wash bag traps over 90% of the plastic microparticles released with each wash, and was developed in accordance with the recommendations made by the Plastic Soup Foundation.
